Pirated Versions of GTA V and Watch Dogs Sold on Flipkart

As Flipkart is getting ready for it’s merger with Walmart, shady people have started to sell pirated games on it’s platform. Many users took to twitter to protest against the pirated games being sold on Flipkart. Users also complained about the pirated versions of FIFA 18 being sold on the website. The cracked versions of Watch Dogs 2 were being sold and registered accounts of GTA V were up for sale as reported by NDTV. These registered accounts are the product of phishing exercises to get the account details from already registered users of the game. Some users also complained about the same thing happening on the Amazon platform.

Pirated Games on Flipkart

Flipkart responded as reported by NDTV, “Flipkart is a marketplace which helps sellers connect with customers across the country. We observe a zero tolerance policy on incidents where sellers are found violating rules pertaining to copyright, quality or genuineness of a product, or any other applicable laws of the land. As a responsible marketplace, we have immediately removed the concerned products and blacklisted the seller on our platform”

For those of you who want to purchase games and usually buy from Amazon and Flipkart, there is another alternative. Steam is the biggest marketplace to buy games online. There are also softwares of various categories on the platform. Steam also has very great sale seasons throughout the year so keep an eye on it.
